Time to draw up those blueprints.
M3 Group may have to build a new wing in the trophy case dedicated solely to 517 Magazine if the publication keeps picking up hardware at this pace.
517 Business and Life, which is produced and published monthly by M3 Group, recently earned a gold Hermes Creative Award in the print media/publications category for the magazine’s December 2022 issue. The honor comes on the heels of a 2002 platinum MarCom Award that 517 Magazine won earlier this year for print media publications.
“This latest award recognizes the immense value 517 Magazine brings to the Greater Lansing region to keep our readers informed and entertained on what they want to know and what they need to know is taking place in their community,” said Tiffany Dowling, president and CEO of M3 Group. “It’s a privilege to be able to focus on the local businesses that serve as the backbone of our unique area and highlight our neighbors who inspire us for the good they do because these are the things that connect us all on an individual level.
“I am tremendously proud of our commitment at M3 to this work, and I am thankful to have a team that values the art and importance of storytelling as much as I do,” she added.
The Hermes Creative Awards is an annual international competition administered by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. Established in 1995, the AMPC is a third-party evaluator of creative work throughout the world. As part of its mission, the AMCP fosters and supports the efforts of creative professionals who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable endeavors.
The award is named for the Greek mythological deity Hermes, the herald and messenger to the Olympians. Now in its 17th year, the Hermes Creative Awards is one of the largest competitions in the communications industry. Winners range in size from individuals to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies.
517 Magazine is quickly approaching its third anniversary. M3 Group launched the publication in the midst of the pandemic, with the first issue hitting mailboxes in June 2020 through the merging of Greater Lansing Business Monthly and Capital Area Women’s LifeStyle Magazine.
A dedicated team of writers, editors and designers work on 517 Magazine each month to tell the stories of the area’s businesses, residents and communities in unique and compelling ways. The coordinated effort is conducted under the guidance and direction of managing editor Mary Gajda.
“More than a job, this magazine is a passion for the 517 team,” Gajda said. “From the planning and writing to the editing and design, the love and care that goes into each issue at every step toward publication is unbelievable. I’m so proud to be a part of that process.”
